# Shopify Translate & Adapt

Shopify Translate & Adapt stores translations in Shopify itself, so translated product content shows on filtered product cards with no integration to turn on.

## What this does

Most translation apps swap in translated text in the shopper's browser after the page loads, which is why they need an integration turning on. Shopify Translate & Adapt is different: it stores translations in Shopify itself, so Smart Product Filter & Search reads your translated product content straight from your store. Product cards in the filtered grid show the right language on every filter, sort, and pagination change, with nothing to enable in **Settings > Integration**.

## Set up

1. In Shopify Admin, go to **Settings > Languages** and make sure the languages you sell in are added and published.
2. In Shopify Translate & Adapt, translate your product content for those languages.
3. In this app, open the **Home** dashboard and click **Sync now** so the latest translated content is picked up.

Repeat step 3 after a round of translation work, so newly translated products appear in the language your shoppers see.
