# Create YMM form

✨The **Year-Make-Model** form is helpful when you want customers to narrow down product compatibility based on vehicle or equipment specifications.

This guide will walk you through creating a YMM form using metafields in the **Smart Product Filter & Search** app.

## ✅ Step-by-Step Instructions

### ⚡️Step 1: Access YMM form builder

1. **Open the YMM Form**\
   From the app’s left navigation bar, click on **Year Make Model**.
2. **Name Your Form**\
   Under the **Form Heading** field, enter a title for your YMM form (e.g., "Find Your Vehicle").

### ⚡️Step 2: Configure YMM Data fields

1. **Configure the Data Fields**\
   Scroll down to the **Fields** section. By default, the app includes three fields:
   * **Year**
   * **Make**
   * **Model**
2. **Edit Each Field**
   * Click the **Edit** button next to the field you want to update.
   * A popup window will appear with the settings for that field:
     * **Label**: Enter the name you'd like to display (e.g., "Select Year").
     * **Option Type**: Choose the product data type to use (default is **Metafields**).
     * **Option Values**: Decide how to load values into the dropdown:
       * **All Values**
       * **By Value Prefix**
       * **Manual Selection**
   * Click **Save** to apply your changes.
3. Do the same for the **Make** and **Model** fields.
4. Click **Save** to finish.

### ⚡️Step 3: **Enable YMM form**

1. Scroll down to the **Settings** section.
2. Turn on the **Enable** option
3. Click **Save** to finish.

### ⚡️Step 4: Add YMM form to your theme

You can add the Year – Make – Model (YMM) form to **any page** in your theme. In this example, we’ll add it to the **homepage**:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store > Themes**.
2. Click **Customize** on your current theme.
3. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select **Home page** (or another page where you want the YMM form to appear).
4. Click **Add section** or **Add block** (depending on your theme layout).
5. Search for the **"Year Make Model form"**.
6. Click to add the YMM block to your selected page.
7. Drag and drop the block to reposition it as needed.
8. Click **Save** to apply your changes.

That’s it - your YMM form is now set up and visible on your store! Customers can easily search for products by selecting their desired Year, Make, and Model.

If you’d like to make further changes, you can always go back to the **YMM settings** in the app to update the field labels, data sources, or display options.

To achieve this, you can use **metafields** as the data source.\
