Translations

Translate option and value names for each of your storefront languages.

If your store sells in more than one language, option and value names can be translated per storefront language — so Color becomes Farbe on your German storefront.

Translating a group

1

Open the storefront language switcher

In the group editor, use the Storefront language menu. The language list comes live from your store's configured languages in Shopify.

The Storefront language menu lists every language configured in Shopify — pick one to translate into.
2

Edit names in that language

An info banner confirms which language you're editing — for example, "You're editing the German translation." Type the translated option and value names. Fields left empty fall back to your primary language.

3

Save

Translations save with the group and render automatically based on the shopper's storefront language.

Separately from storefront translations, the admin UI itself follows your Shopify admin language and ships in 19 languages: Czech, Danish, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
