# Option set analytics

See how much an option set earns, which choices customers select most often, and how much revenue comes from add-ons.

Analytics answers three key questions about an option set: how much revenue it generates, how much of that revenue comes from add-ons, and which option values customers choose.

The last one is especially useful for optimizing your options. It can help you decide which choices to keep, which to price differently, and which to remove.

## Before you start

* **Advanced analytics is available only on certain plans.** On plans without access, **View Analytics** displays an upgrade prompt. See [Compare plans](/options/plans-and-billing/compare-plans.md).
* **Analytics is based on order data.** A new option set will not show any data until it has been used in at least one order.

## Opening Analytics

Go to **Option Sets**, find the option set you want to review, and select **View Analytics** from its row actions. Use the back button to return to the list.

## Choosing a period

The date range selector sits at the top and applies to everything on the page.

<figure><img src="https://3141646361-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FkMyxhAk2ZlJa4wZQGfBI%2Fuploads%2F4KVHKMEqeZS8pxUeWgvq%2Fany2.png?alt=media&amp;token=92e1a810-780e-4782-9424-e57b786c7c57" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<table><thead><tr><th width="220">Range</th><th width="220">Range</th><th>Range</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Today</td><td>Last 60 days</td><td>Week to date</td></tr><tr><td>Yesterday</td><td>Last 90 days</td><td>Month to date</td></tr><tr><td>Last 7 days</td><td>Last week</td><td>Custom range</td></tr><tr><td>Last 30 days</td><td>Last month</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

**Last 7 days** is selected by default. Use **Custom range** to choose your own start and end dates.

The app also loads the equivalent previous period so you can see how your results have changed. For example, **Last 30 days** compares your results with the 30 days immediately before that period.

## The summary figures

## The charts

<table><thead><tr><th width="270">Chart</th><th>Shows</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Total sales</strong></td><td>Sales over time across the period, so you can see trend and spikes rather than one total.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Most valued options</strong></td><td>Your option values are ranked by what they earned, with a purchase count for each. This is the list that tells you which choices matter.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Total products quantity</strong></td><td>Quantities split into <strong>Main Products</strong> and <strong>Add-on Products</strong>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Orders revenue distribution</strong></td><td>Revenue split between orders <strong>With Add-ons</strong> and <strong>Without Add-ons</strong> — the share of business where customers pay for an option.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Average order value</strong></td><td>Average order value over time, so you can see whether a pricing change moved it.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## How to read it

**Revenue from add-ons vs. total revenue.** If add-ons account for only a small share of total revenue, the option set may be helping customers complete their purchases rather than generating significant additional revenue. That can be perfectly fine — it simply means pricing may not be the main source of value.

**Most valued options.** Look at both ends of the list. The most popular options may be candidates for a price increase or greater visibility — move them higher in the option or make one the default value. Options at the bottom, especially those with very few purchases, may be candidates for removal. Every unused choice adds another decision for customers.

**Order revenue distribution.** A low **With Add-ons** share can indicate that the paid option is not visible or compelling enough. Consider clearer help text, a more descriptive label, or moving the option above the **Add to cart** button.

**Total products quantity.** If the add-on product count is high relative to the number of main products, customers may be purchasing multiple add-ons per order. Check that your inventory can keep up. See [Stock and inventory](/options/add-on-pricing/stock-and-inventory.md).

## The store-wide chart

The **Dashboard** includes a smaller chart covering your entire store rather than a single option set. It shows **Total sales**, **Total orders**, and **Total products** over the last 7 or 30 days, with revenue broken down between add-ons and main products, and product quantities shown separately.

Use the dashboard for the overall picture, and the option set analytics page when you want to understand the performance of a specific option set.

## Notes

* Analytics are based on order data, so they cover completed orders rather than carts or product-page views. The app does not measure how many customers saw an option but chose not to use it.
* If an order contains two option sets, it contributes to the analytics for both sets.
* Money is displayed using your store’s currency format.
* Refunds and cancellations are reflected based on the order data available to the app. Figures for a recent period may take a day or two to settle.
* Basic and advanced analytics vary by plan. The per-option-set analytics page requires the **Advanced** plan.
