# Pre-designed templates

Twenty complete option sets for common product types, ready to copy and adapt.

Twenty option sets built for common product types. They include the fields, values, and layout, but not the live preview.

## Using one

### Look at the demo

Each template includes a demo, so you can see the finished form on a storefront before you use it.

### Select Use template

A new option set is created from the template, and the builder opens.

### Rename it

Name the option set after your products, not after the template.

### Go through every option

Templates contain example values. Check and update the following:

* **Label** and **Name** on each option. The Name appears on your orders.
* Option values, so they match what you actually offer
* Character limits and min and max values
* Prices, which are either examples or not set

### Assign it to your products

Set a rule on **Assign products**. A template has no rule. See [Assign to products](/options/option-sets/assign-to-products.md).

### Save, activate, and test

Set the status to **Active**, confirm **Online Store** is ticked, then use **View in Store**.

## Choosing one to start from

Select a template by the **structure of the form** rather than by the product name. For example, if you sell engraved hip flasks, the closest template is not the one named after a flask. It is the one with a short engraving field and a font choice, probably Keychain or Pendant.

## Notes

* Using a template does not modify it.
* Templates may not be available on all plans.
* After adapting a template, save your version as a [custom template](/options/templates/custom-templates.md), so your next product starts from it.
* A template's options can also be inserted into an existing option set, using **Add template** in the builder.
