# Manage sorting products

Control which sort choices shoppers see above the product grid, and which one is applied by default.

## What this does

Controls two separate things: what order products show in before a shopper touches anything, and which sort choices they're even offered. For example, you could set the default to **Best Selling** so new visitors see your top products first, while only offering **Best Selling**, **Price, low to high**, and **Price, high to low** in the dropdown — hiding other built-in options you don't want cluttering the choice.

## Steps

1. In the app, go to **Settings > General**.
2. Under **Default sort products by**, choose the option applied when a shopper hasn't picked a sort order themselves — a specific order (for example, "Best Selling" or "Price, low to high"), or **Same as current collection sort** to keep whatever sort order is already set on each collection in Shopify instead of overriding it.
3. Under **Sorting options**, check which choices should appear in the shopper-facing sort dropdown, and drag to reorder them.
4. Click **Save** in the bar at the top of the page.

## Sort products in manual order

If you want full control over the exact order products appear in (not just "Best Selling" or "Price"), reorder them manually in Shopify, then point the app at that order:

1. In Shopify, go to **Products > Collections** and open the collection you want to reorder.
2. Set its sort to **Manually**, then drag and drop the products into the order you want.
3. Back in the app, go to **Settings > General** and set **Default sort products by** to **Same as current collection sort**, then click **Save**.
4. Go to the app's **Dashboard** and click **Sync Product Data** to update the app with your manual product order.

Without this last sync step, your manual product order won't show up on the storefront — the app is still serving whatever order it last synced.
