Shared images across all variants

Keep size charts, packaging and lifestyle shots visible whatever the shopper picks.

Not every photo belongs to one colour. A size chart, a packaging shot, a care-instructions card or a lifestyle image should show no matter which variant a shopper selects.

That's what the Shared across all variants area at the bottom of the Assign images editor is for.

How to share an image

Leave it where it is. Any image you never drag onto a value row stays in Shared across all variants and is added to every variant's gallery.

If an image is already assigned to a value and you want it shared instead, drag it back down into the shared area, then click Save.

What shoppers see

When a shopper changes variant:

  • the variant-specific images change with the selection;

  • the shared images stay visible, appearing after the variant's own images.

You can mix the two freely — a variant's gallery is its own images followed by the shared ones.

Good candidates for sharing

  • Size charts and measurement tables

  • Packaging and unboxing photos

  • Lifestyle or in-use photography that isn't colour-specific

  • Care and washing instructions

  • Brand or promotional images

With several options

On a multi-option product, "shared" means not assigned to any value of an option you're using. Those images are appended to every variant's gallery after the images the options have in common. Drag order in the shared area controls the order they appear in.
