# Configure Vehicle Finder fields

Configure which fields appear in the Vehicle Finder form — by default Year, Make, and Model, but you can add, reorder, or remove fields.

## What this does

Controls which dropdown fields shoppers fill in on your Vehicle Finder form — by default **Year**, **Make**, and **Model** — and what each one is driven by. A field isn't limited to vehicle data: you can base one on any product attribute in your store (a variant option, tag, vendor, or metafield), so the form isn't strictly tied to the Year/Make/Model shape if your use case needs something different.

## The fields list

On the **Vehicle Finder** page, the **Fields** section lists every configured field with its **Label** and **Attribute**, in the order they appear in the form. Drag rows to reorder them; before any fields are added, this section shows "No field yet".

## Add or edit a field

1. Click **Add field** (or click an existing field to edit it).
2. Choose the **Source** — the underlying product attribute this field is based on (for a standard vehicle setup, this is the Year, Make, or Model data imported via [Import vehicle data](/vehicle-finder/import-vehicle-data.md); you can also base a field on any other product attribute, such as a variant option, tag, vendor, or metafield).
3. Set a **Label** (shown to shoppers) and a **URL handle**.
4. Under **Values**, choose which values appear and in what order — **Type** (use all values / manual selection) and **Sort** (A-Z, Z-A, product count, manually, or natural) — the same choices used for regular filter options. 5. Under **Advanced settings**, optionally set **Automatically remove value prefixes** and **Tooltip content** (help text shown next to the field).
6. Click **Save**.
