# Input types

The 12 option types where the customer enters a value instead of choosing from a list.

Input types collect information from the customer. They have no option values, because the customer enters, selects, drags, or uploads a value rather than choosing from a list you define.

Some types cannot have a price, such as a date field used for a delivery fee. Add the charge to a separate [Switch](/options/option-types/input-types/switch.md) or [Checkbox](/options/option-types/selection-types/checkbox.md), and use [conditional logic](/options/conditional-logic/conditional-logic.md) to display the field when it is needed.
